From the Kitchen Table: Creation 2

With a guest preacher and the baptism of my son, there was no posted sermon last week.  However, just to make sure we give Adam and Eve their due honor, I dug up some old drawings my daughter and I made when she in preschool.  These all came to be on the kitchen table, my favorite place to share stories and wonder about the world.

Proverbial apples.  Although rumor has it, our first parents ate forbidden figs.

My daughter's rendering of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden....the blue angel in its coolness takes center stage with Eve in her hot red, plucking fruit nearby.  The yellow snake slinks across the bottom of the page.

And finally, there is the drawing she made of the two of us in our backyard: a bottlebrush tree, the bees, the sun, a spider in its web, the flowers, a bird with babies in the nest, and her mother below with the watering can.  She's at the top tending to the hatching eggs.
